Major Wade Morrison, USA (Retired) joined the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs team June 2023, after an extensive career within the U.S. military and State of Alabama Educational System.

Morrison attended the University of Montana, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education. There he attended Army ROTC and received his commission as an Army Aviation Officer in 2006.

Having served in the Army National Guard for over 20 years, Morrison was deployed on three separate occasions as a CH-47 helicopter pilot in Haiti and Afghanistan and most recently serving as the Deputy Director of Public Affairs for Joint Task Force Guantanamo at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. His major military awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Senior Aviator Badge.

Today he serves Alabama’s 400,000 veterans as the Director of Support Services for the Alabama Department of Veterans Affairs.

He lives in Prattville, Alabama, with his wife Ginger Morrison, Ph.D. a clinical psychologist. Together they have four children: Kessler, Luka, Charlie, and Logan.
